Utah Coast
The bay of the Seine was one of the first sectors to be fortified, with the batterie at Azeville. Other batteries followed at La Pernell 1 & 2, Morsalines, Crasville, Mont Conquerel, Crisbecq & St Martin de Varreville. There was also a batterie of mobile guns placed at Chateau de Frontany, part of the iron triangle, but these were moved nearer Montebourg after D-day. Two of the Russian guns from Carteret were also moved nearer to La Pernell at the same time
