The Atlantik Wall In Normandy

Lying on the beach like discarded children's toys, lie two type H667 Casemates and a Tobruk.
The erosion caused by the sea has left these Casemates stranded. This has happened to many of the coastal fortifications from here to the west and south west.
It is useful to be able to see just how much concrete went into the construction of the smaller structures.
The Casemates would have housed either 50mm  guns.
The rear entrance to both Casemates has been modified to allow a chicane entrance, affording greater protection to the Gun crew.
In the field behind the site are two other bunkers, one a personnel bunker whilst the other served as an ammunition bunker.
Two hundred meters to the east are a further two Casemates which between them would have covered the entire beach area.
