Omaha was not well served with big guns, only Grandcamp Maisy, Pointe du Hoc and Longues sur Mer (included on Gold Beach) covered the beach.
Later during the occupations mobile guns were placed at various points behind the beach area (shown in green on map.
Omaha had a large number of Strong Points, and it was these that caused most of the problems for the Americans during the assault.
